Silence, wonderful, creepy silence

My three room-mates (see above) just moved to Washington State this past Friday. The house is silent and just a touch eerie. I'll get used to it I suppose. Really, they haven't been gone very long, but somehow it just feels different than it would if they had just gone for the weekend. This is the first time I've ever lived completely alone. I will miss the two furry ones.

I think it must be more than a touch odd to be there alone. When you first moved there, the house was home to Charlie, about 100 goats, 5 or 6 horses and donkeys, 4 pigs, 5 dogs, and more tractors and trucks than I could imagine. The house has gotten succesively emptier as the animals and trucks have been migrating North. So we've gotten somewhat used to the dwindling numbers. Still, noting can prepare you for the great silence of absence. It's hard to imagine that place housing just you and the cat.
